Many Super Enterprise customers with several Petabytes of managed storage suffer from the "one size fits all" model. In this model, all applications (regardless of requirements) are grouped onto a high Tier of storage. This approach leads to very high infrastructure costs and under-utilized assets across the enterprise.

To combat this problem, NovusCG works with the client to define business application priorities and analyze existing IT resources. Service level tiers are mapped to the resulting data and an Application Alignment Report (AAR) is provided that matches business requirements by application with the appropriate tier. A comprehensive Service Offering by Tier and the associated Service Level Agreement is created.

The proper alignment of tools and targeted tasks may be challenging, but doing so is critical to success. To address these challenges, NovusCG has developed A2I™, the Application to Infrastructure Alignment.

• Business Impact Analysis Report: provides the appropriate business criticality level of a given application and the appropriate Service Level requirements. Criticality levels include Revenue Generating, Mission Critical, General Support and Archival.
• Service Catalog: describes the various storage centric solution offerings that a corporation can offer its internal and external line of business customers with the appropriate Service Level definitions. This catalog leverages existing infrastructure components as well as new solution components that would be required to meet the business objectives.
• Solution Design for each Tier in the proposed Tiered structure with a Bill of Materials for infrastructure components needed to fill potential infrastructure gaps.
• Current state AAR that details the current mapping of Application to Infrastructure and the target state AAR detailing the best fit model from an application and infrastructure perspective. The report would detail if an application requires a higher or lower tier of service and the business and technical decision-making process used to derive the requirement.
